Simple Premise
Chops is very simple in execution. Essentially it is a library of standard chord progressions (over two hundred and fifty to be precise) that you can then play along with in order to improve your timing and accuracy through practice. The chord progressions are played by a full band of instruments, with each one separately controlled so you can turn the volume down on individual parts. A tuner is included so you can ensure your instrument is in tune before playing along. You can create your own chord progressions and save them for playing along with at a later date.
Could Use a Little Work
While Chops is relatively inexpensive, the user interface is not particularly easy to get around, there are no keyboard shortcuts, and you can't rename saved songs. The window is also not re-sizeable, making it tricky to use on smaller resolution screens where part of the app may be off-screen.
